The Sejong Cultural Center of Korean Tradition (Overview) The Sejong Cultural Center of Korean Tradition features a building with an area of 5,495.96㎡, encompassing one basement level and three above-ground floors.

Embracing the concept of 온고지신 (温故知新), which translates to “understanding the old and embracing the new,” the center is committed to promoting and illuminating traditional culture as we advance into the future. People of all ages can immerse themselves in activities designed to provide a firsthand experience of traditional culture. The center also offers opportunities for training from experts in traditional arts and a diverse range of cultural experiences accessible to all Sejong residents. In a rapidly evolving modern society, the center stands as a sanctuary where individuals can pause, reflect thoughtfully, and occasionally find inspiration.

(Program Information) The Temple Food Experience Program provides participants with the opportunity to explore and prepare traditional temple cuisine using seasonal natural ingredients, thereby immersing themselves in the cultural practices of temple food. The Tea Ceremony Experience Program offers insights into proper tea etiquette and practices.

The Zen and Meditation Program is designed to help busy modern individuals cultivate relaxation and mindfulness through meditation, teaching them how to master their own minds. The Barley Straw Craft Program involves creating accessories and decorative items, such as frames, using barley straw.

Additionally, a variety of other programs are available, including traditional snack making, bowl offering, traditional lantern crafting, and calligraphy.
